Special Course Deep Diving

SSI Specialty: Deep Diving – Explore the Depths with Confidence

The deeper you go, the more there is to discover. The SSI Deep Diving Specialty opens up a whole new underwater world—filled with silence, mystery, and marine life that rarely appears in shallow waters.

Whether you’re fascinated by dramatic drop-offs, sunken wrecks, or rare species found only at greater depths, this course prepares you to explore safely and responsibly.

Why Go Deep?

Deeper dive sites are often less frequented, which makes them more pristine and peaceful. With fewer swimmers or snorkelers around, the water is calmer, visibility can be better, and marine life tends to be more relaxed. You’ll encounter species and underwater landscapes that are rarely seen near the surface—making deep diving an unforgettable experience.

What You Will Learn

This specialty includes 4 dives over at least 2 days, taking you progressively deeper—up to a maximum of 40 meters. During these dives, you’ll learn:

  • How to plan and execute safe deep dives
  • Proper descent and ascent techniques for greater depths
  • How depth and pressure affect your air consumption, buoyancy, and mental awareness
  • Emergency procedures and how to recognize signs of nitrogen narcosis
  • How to monitor your time and depth precisely to stay within safe limits

You’ll also gain experience with backup equipment, gas management, and proper team communication—essential skills for any diver who wants to go beyond recreational depth ranges.

Expand Your Dive Horizons

The Deep Diving Specialty is ideal for divers who want to explore wrecks, walls, or remote reef structures—and is a valuable step toward becoming a more skilled, confident diver.

By the end of this course, you’ll not only be certified to dive deeper—you’ll also understand what it takes to do so safely, mindfully, and with respect for the environment.
