SSI Advanced Adventurer – Take Your Diving to the Next Level
Ready to move beyond the basics? The SSI Advanced Adventurer program is the perfect way to expand your skills, gain confidence, and discover what type of diving excites you most. Whether you’re interested in deep diving, wrecks, underwater photography, or navigation, this course gives you a safe and structured way to explore your interests.
Unlike traditional theory-heavy courses, the Advanced Adventurer is all about learning through diving. You’ll complete five different adventure dives, each focusing on a specialty area—giving you a true taste of what’s possible in the world of scuba.
What You Will Experience
With your instructor, you’ll take part in:
- A deep dive (typically 18–30 meters) to learn how depth affects your body and equipment
- An underwater navigation dive to sharpen your orientation skills and build trust in your own sense of direction
In addition, you can choose three other dives from a wide selection, including:
- Night diving
- Wreck diving
- Perfect buoyancy
- Scooter diving (DPV)
- Enriched Air Nitrox
- Underwater photography
- …and many more!
Each dive counts as the first module of the corresponding Specialty Course, meaning you can continue toward full certifications without repeating dives.
Requirements
To join this program, you must:
- Hold an SSI Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent from another recognized organization)
- Be at least 15 years old (or 12 years for Junior Advanced Adventurer)
Why Take This Course?
The SSI Advanced Adventurer is your gateway to new challenges, unique environments, and greater self-reliance. It’s also an important step on the path toward becoming a Master Diver—the highest non-professional recognition in the SSI system.
