El Condesito

Wreck Diving in a Marine Reserve

The dive site El Condesito is located within a protected marine reserve between Los Cristianos and Las Galletas, and is reached by boat in about 20 minutes from Las Galletas harbor.

At a depth of 8 to 16 meters, you’ll find the remains of El Condesito, an old concrete freighter that ran aground on the cliffs over 40 years ago. Although the wreck was partially damaged by recent winter storms, it still offers a captivating structure to explore, especially for newer wreck divers.

Surrounding the wreck is a beautiful volcanic reefscape that slopes gently into deeper waters. The area provides habitat for octopuses, glass-eye fish, trumpetfish, groupers, barracudas, and occasionally rays and moray eels.

More experienced divers may descend further along the drop-off, but should be aware of potentially strong currents in this area. The mix of wreck, marine life, and lava formations makes El Condesito a varied and rewarding dive site for all certification levels.
